Our facility is accredited by AASHTO/Re:Source and US Army Corps to help clients meet all applicable building codes and project requirements with quality materials testing provided in a timely, cost effective, and practical manner. Our on-site professionals are ACI and NICET certified and have performed testing for various projects as part of the geotechnical exploration and construction inspection and testing services.
About Us/Who We Are
TerraSense is the leading geotechnical laboratory in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. The lab, located in Totowa, New Jersey, has been providing quality testing for over 25 years. The firm provides testing for governmental agencies, consulting engineering firms and construction contractors. The laboratory staff performs the spectrum of geotechnical testing from routine index testing to the development and implementation of state-of-the-art test procedures.
Our Professional Qualifications
Testing is performed in a 10,000 square foot temperature-controlled facility that is equipped with up-to-date equipment and data acquisition instrumentation. Testing is conducted in accordance with a quality assurance plan based on ASTM, ISRM and AASHTO and in-house test procedures. We participate in the AASHTO Re:Source proficiency program (formerly AMRL). The lab is validated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. We are able to accept soils from various area of the US and internationally through our USDA soil importation permit.
Our Commitment to Quality
Since our formation as TerraSense in 2009 we have provided exceptional geotechnical testing skills and have greatly expanded our capabilities. TerraSense provides the analyses and collaboration you need when making geotechnical performance evaluations. TerraSense staff members are active in the ASTM technical committee D-18 on Soil and Rock. This expertise also allows us to provide our clients with consulting on test interpretation and validation.
